Opening a dealroom with Doccly

Aug 18, 2022 (PHOENIX, Ariz.) — Follow this quick tutorial to learn how to open a deal room with Doccly Lender and get to work.

Congratulations! You are officially ready to Get Work and Do Work.

You should see a blue button on the left side of your screen. It says Add New Room. That is the most important button on Doccly Lender. Click it!

Choose your Room

The first thing you will need to do is choose the type of room you would like, this tells our Dealbots which rules to use for your new Deal Room. Click on the drop-down menu and select the type of Deal Room you would like to open. Give your room a name that you will remember.

You may need to select the other service providers who are working in the Deal Room with you from a list. If these service providers do not show up in the menu, double-check that they are on your panel. For help with that see the panel section on your Preferences tutorial.

If you are a user on more than one service provider, you may have one extra step to complete. Make sure that you have selected which service provider you would like to use to create the new Room.

Click Add Room when you are ready to see the magic happen!


Once you have opened your new Deal Room, you will be taken to the Data tab first. You can fill this information in immediately or come back when it suits you. As you fill in the information here, look out for dynamic tasks and folders on the following tabs. These will correspond to the information that you fill in on the Data tab.


While in setting up mode, we will take a bit of a jump forward. Navigate to the Team tab on the right-hand side underneath your Deal Room name. From here you can invite team members to join your Deal Room, enter their email addresses and select the role that they will play in your Deal Room. They will receive an email in their inbox, and upon following the link, they will be ready to join in the fun. You can invite everyone who needs access to the Deal Room data, tasks, files, and communication. They can join your room at no cost and will be able to join even if they are not yet on Doccly Lender.

This is also where you can manage your team. If you click on the menu icon in the top right-hand corner of each person's row, you will see a list of the actions available to you.


When you navigate to the Tasks tab you will notice that Doccly Lender Dealbots may have already generated tasks for you based on your Deal Room so far. You can assign tasks to those who can complete them by clicking the menu item on the top right-hand side of the task and Assign task. Be aware that if your teammate's name is not coming up in the drop-down menu, they may not have permission to complete the task based on their role.

If you have been assigned a task, you can mark it as done by clicking the checkbox. You can also create a custom task by clicking the + Task button. Follow the prompts for unique tasks.


Files are up next. You can find files underneath the Deal Room name in an open Deal Room. You can upload files by clicking the upload button or by dropping them into the drop zone. Move files by clicking on the menu icon in the top right-hand corner of the file and navigating to where your desired destination is.

Let's get to work! The last thing you need to know about is the Activity feed. But no need to wait for us, you are free to open all the Deal Rooms you would like in the meantime!
